Koh Jia Ling Emily

Emily’s practice covers a wide range of matters involving different practice areas, including Litigation & Dispute Resolution, Intellectual Property (IP), Corporate & Commercial and Franchise & Licensing, amongst others.

On the Litigation & Dispute Resolution front, Emily's experience includes criminal and civil litigation matters such as contractual disputes, negligence claims, matrimonial disputes, bankruptcy proceedings, and probate and administration applications.

Apart from contentious claims, Emily’s practice also includes advising clients on IP matters. On the IP front, Emily currently advises local and international clients with registration, prosecution and enforcement of patents, trade marks and designs. Emily also has experience in contentious IP matters, and has aided in opposition proceedings before the Trade Marks Registry and the High Court.

On the Corporate & Commercial front, Emily has been involved in drafting and reviewing commercial agreements such as subscription and shareholders’ agreements, memorandums of understanding, non-disclosure agreements and service agreements, amongst others. Emily also assists start-up technology companies on issues relating to investment funding and initial coin offerings.

Emily is fluent in English and Mandarin, and is also familiar with European Union law, having spent a semester abroad in the Netherlands.
