Ryan graduated from the University of Birmingham, in England, and is admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore. He is currently an Associate in Gateway’s Litigation & Dispute Resolution Group.

Ryan is actively engaged in a broad spectrum of litigation and dispute resolution matters. His involvement encompasses various areas including commercial disputes, probate and administration matters, and notably, intellectual property disputes—an area of law that particularly captivates his interest.

In the area of intellectual property, Ryan is currently assisting in complex trade mark, copyright and patent infringement matters, and which ranges from the early pre-trial stages of preparing Cease and Desist Letters for would-be infringers, and all the way up to formal legal action in the General Division of the High Court of the Republic of Singapore (either in the enforcement or defence of a proprietor’s respective intellectual property rights). A notable matter that Ryan is currently assisting with involves one of the world’s most prestigious motor racing competition organisers.

Another notable matter that Ryan has assisted with also involved successfully obtaining judgment in the General Division of the High Court of Singapore against a client’s debtor for a sum in excess of USD 5 million, amongst other relief.

Prior to joining Gateway, Ryan completed his Training Contract at a law firm in central Singapore, assisting in a wide range of matters from personal injury, contentious PPO and divorce proceedings, to cross border disputes involving listed foreign companies.

Ryan has experience attending to matters in the various Courts in Singapore; from the State Courts, the Family Justice Courts, the High Court and even the Singapore International Commercial Court (SICC).
