Boey Swee Siang
Senior Consultant
Swee Siang has around 30 years of cross-border litigation and international arbitration experience, representing major clients, including telecommunications companies, insurance companies, airlines, oil and gas-related companies and governments, in high value and complex disputes.
He received the 2014 International Law Office (ILO) Client Choice Award in the Arbitration category for Singapore, and in 2017, he was recognised as an Acritas Star Lawyer. Swee Siang has been ranked by Benchmark Litigation Asia-Pacific as a Litigation Star for a number of years running.
Swee Siang’s areas of expertise include contentious contractual and tortious claims, including in sectors such as construction; telecommunications, media and technology; logistics; energy; pharmaceuticals; international trade; Satcom; as well as banking and finance. He has also advised and represented clients in defamation, professional negligence and employment cases. His practice further encompasses insolvency and restructuring.
Along with acting as lead counsel in numerous cases in the State Courts as well as the Supreme Court of Singapore, he has represented clients in domestic as well as international arbitrations conducted under various institutional rules, such as the SIAC, ICC, LCIA and Swiss Rules of Arbitration. He has also been involved in ad hoc arbitration proceedings applying the UNCITRAL Rules. In 2024, Swee Siang was featured among Financier Worldwide’s Power Players International Arbitration – Distinguished Advisors Power Player.
Besides being a regular speaker at various conferences both in and outside of Singapore, Swee Siang was invited to give the 2024 ALSA Guest Lecture organised by the Asian Law Students’ Association of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Indonesia. He also authored the Singapore chapter of the Global Arbitration Review’s Litigation Know-How 2025.
