Emma’s practice focuses on Intellectual Property (IP), Technology, and Data, encompassing both contentious and non-contentious matters as well as advisory work relating to patents, trademarks, copyright, designs, domain names, trade secrets, and data protection.

In the IP sphere, Emma handles the full spectrum of matters, including litigation, prosecution, transactions, portfolio management, commercialisation, strategic advisory, and training. She regularly advises and represents both local and international clients on the protection and enforcement of their IP rights, including managing prosecution, supporting corporate transactions, and handling infringement, opposition, revocation, and invalidation proceedings at both the Registry and Court-levels.

As one of the few lawyers in Singapore with a technical qualification, Emma is well positioned to advise on technology- and data-related transactions and disputes, bringing a deep understanding of both the technical and legal aspects underpinning negotiations and advocacy. In addition, her experience in both private practice and in-house roles enables her to anticipate and effectively meet clients’ commercial and legal needs. Emma is also well versed in navigating the legal and cultural landscapes of Singapore and China, and her familiarity with both jurisdictions places her in a strong position to facilitate seamless cross-border cooperation.

Emma is fluent in both English and Mandarin, and capable of drafting and reviewing documents in Chinese.
