Marcus Tong graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours) from the University of Tasmania, where he was the top international student and received the University of Tasmania Law Press Prize for the highest-scoring thesis. Marcus was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in 2025
Marcus is a Legal Associate in the Restructuring and Insolvency Practice Group at Gateway Law Corporation. His practice encompasses corporate restructurings, insolvency proceedings, and proceedings to recover debts and assets, where he advises corporations, insolvency practitioners, and high net-worth individuals in navigating their legal, financial, and practical challenges.
Marcus also specialises in dispute resolution and international arbitration. He has been part of teams that advised multinational corporations, public listed companies, and high net-worth individuals in complex, high-value disputes.
Prior to joining Gateway Law Corporation, Marcus trained at leading litigation law firms where he was involved in matters involving fraud and asset recovery, as well as maritime and construction disputes.
Outside of work, Marcus actively volunteers with grassroots initiatives and engages in pro bono work.
