Aik Kai specialises in asset management and investment funds. He has extensive experience in the asset management sector having advised managers on the legal and regulatory aspects of their fund management business, including fund formation, offering rules for offers of interests of private and retail collective investment schemes, share disclosure requirements, and licensing and registration for the asset managers.

Aik Kai advises on the authorisation and recognition of funds for public offer in Singapore (including the listing of ETFs). He also has experience in advising trustees of REITs listed in Singapore, with respect to initial public offerings, property acquisitions, financing transactions and medium-term note programmes.

He also advises on regulatory matters concerning the Securities and Futures Act 2001, the Financial Advisers Act 2001, the Payment Services Act 2019 and other laws concerning the financial sector.

In addition to the above, Aik Kai also focuses on corporate transactions such as shareholders’ agreements, directors’ services agreements and joint venture agreements, amongst others. He also covers matters concerning corporate governance, employment issues and general commercial matters.
